Alexandria is rich in heritage, inspiration, natural beauty and environmental resources which makes it a great place, it is our responsibility to keep it that way. Where do we start and How?
A new initiative has been launched recognising local people in our communities who are making a difference when it comes to tackling climate change. We have established a Net Zero Eco Plan as an approach to help create:
Create new wildflower meadows
Plant pollinators
Establish new trees
Use more locally grown fruit and vegetables
Reduce Food Waste
It's important we do these things in a sustainable way which protects our natural areas for future generations. The plan is a 12 month schedule of activities for our schools, nurseries, families, and community projects to work together to make the biggest impact possible in Alexandria.

The Scottish Government has set world leading Climate Change targets to reduce Scotland’s carbon emissions by 80% by 2050. These create significant social and economic opportunities, as well as challenges, and required a range of actions across society and the economy.
